The Golden Spirit Story
Golden Spirit makes art from the symbols people have used to mark what matters to them.
Some of those symbols belong to a particular tradition. Others - the tree, the circle, the lotus, the geometry that turns up independently in cultures that never met - belong to no one and to everyone. We work with both.
Every piece is built in metal and finished with real 24K gold, and on select models, 925 sterling silver. The detail is worked into the material rather than printed onto it, which is what lets the surface hold light the way it does.
The Art
A symbol that has survived a thousand years has earned a material that lasts. That is the whole idea behind what we make.
We are not interested in decoration that happens to reference something sacred. We are interested in the symbol itself, rendered carefully enough that someone who knows what it means recognises that we knew too.
That standard applies across every collection we produce. Where a symbol carries specific religious weight, we research its conventions before we design, and we follow them.
The Process
The work begins in metal. Each design is drawn, cut, and formed, with the detail shaped directly into the material. This is the slowest stage and it determines everything that follows.
The formed piece then goes through gold finishing. Layers are applied by hand rather than by bulk coating, which gives the surface its variation in depth and the way it changes as you move around it.
Each finished piece is set on a velvet field, which darkens the space behind the gold and lifts it forward, then framed.
The Frames
Four finishes: gold, black, white, and bronze. Velvet backing in black or white.
The frame is there to hold the work and give it presence. It is not there to be noticed. Each one is built on a restrained profile that sits comfortably in a wide range of interiors, from a modern apartment to a room full of antiques.
